History
of the Carousel at Gillians Wonderland Pier.
The carousel at Gillians Wonderland Pier was built
in 1926 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. It was the
75th carousel created by them. In 1925, the Philadelphia
Toboggan Company stopped carving new carousel figures.
It is most likely that the carousel at Gillians
Wonderland Pier was created by adding new decorations
to old stock.
From the time of its creation, until 1946, the carousel
resided in Dallas, Pennsylvania. In 1946 it was moved
to Rolling Green Park, in Sellings Grove, Pennsylvania.
The Gillian family purchased the carousel in 1972, and
it has been a part of the Gillian family, and Wonderland
Pier ever since.
Enjoy your ride!
